There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that’s your own self. – Aldous Huxley

Mr. Huxley was exactly right. We have no control over the way other people think, what they may or may not do that affects us directly or indirectly, the decisions they make, or the choices they make in life.

But, we do have the God-given ability to be in control of our own lives, the attitude with which we face each new day and the intelligence to make our own life decisions. Take the time for prayerful consideration of the options life offers to you, make the very best decision you can, and pursue your dreams knowing that you can reach your goals.

Successful entrepreneur Damian Benko offers practical advise for individuals looking to improve their financial situation by becoming their own boss.

Entrepreneur Helps Business Owners Find Solid Opportunities, Helping Them Avoid Money Losers and Time Wasters Alpharetta, GA, January 10, 2007 –(PR.com)– With fuel prices at all-time highs, interest rates climbing, and many corporations cutting payrolls, millions of North Americans are frantically searching for a small business they can own.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of flimsy deals, poor plans, and down right scams trying to reel in unsuspecting novices. Entrepreneur and direct marketing expert Damian Benko, has created several online sites to help inform those attempting to go into business for themselves.

Benko advises to base a business on direct marketing. “Trying to create your own product is too risky and too expensive. It’s better to market an already established product or service, but make sure the commission structure will let you earn good money,” Benko said.

Benko’s experience and research has led him to believe most MLM and networking businesses won’t work. “By the time everyone down the line gets through taking their cut, you can’t keep enough commission. It’s not unusual for longtime MLM members to be pulling in just $50 or $100 per month. You can’t quit your 9 to 5 and elevate your lifestyle,” Benko said.

Benko advises those considering a business to find a mentor who can help them put a success system in place, then keep them encouraged over the months. “You need a mentor with a tested, proven plan you can put in place. Then you must consistently work your plan for one year. It takes that long to give your business a strong and lasting start,” Benko said.

Watch for companies that have a conflict of interest. They may be more interested in selling leads to members, or getting all members to subscribe to the company’s technology or services. “When Ray Kroc started franchising McDonalds, he insisted they wouldn’t be marketing meat, rolls, and cups to their individual owners. It would create a conflict of interest and could be discouraging to owners. That was good advice every industry should consider,” Benko pointed out.

Finally, Benko says prospective business owners should trust their gut. Whether a business idea sounds like a great idea or a dog, the owner should trust his or her feelings and not be talked in or out of the business by the advice of friends and family. “You’ll be working a lot of hours in your business. It has to feel right to you,” Benko said.

“You can Have Everything In Life You Want, IF You Just Help Enough Other People Get What They Want!” Zig Ziglar

What this quote embodies is the principal of “the more you give, the more you receive.” This quote is by far my favorite and I do my best to live my life in this way everyday.

If we would all just think about helping those around us more than helping ourselves, we would see that by doing such automatically helps ourselves. I think if more people lived this way our world would be a far better place.

Most people think in dichotomy of either or; A winner and a loser mindset. I prefer to think in abundance. The universe has far more to give than we can EVER understand. I am very pleased to see The Secret starting to gain more and more popularity. These concepts are overwhelmingly explained and documented in The Secret.

We need to embrace these principals and teach others by living our own lives this way. There is no need to forcibly changes someones thoughts when in fact only they have that power. But, by living life according to these principals, you will change the world around you and those who wish to join you will!

Well, I find myself asking this question more and more lately as our son Sean is nearing his third birthday. He has always been a very well behaved and pleasant child. Lately however, things have taken a turn down a road I would prefer not be on.

The other night when we went out to dinner, wow!!! This kid was on fire. He would not sit down, he spilled his food on the floor and would not listen whatsoever. I took him out to the car and calmed him down, but as soon as we got back in the restaurant, he started up again.

You should have seen the looks we were getting. Not that I care but if looks could kill, my son would of been a gonner. Now what made this worse is that my daughter Amy, who is now 1 year old, was confused and then started crying and the night just spiraled from there.

It was quite comical to watch the people dining and the wait staff try to get us to leave without actually asking us. I mean they gave us horrible service and when we were served our food it was cold. I mentioned it to them and they started fighting with my wife, Andrea over what was cold and what was eaten anyway.

The highlight came when I was taking Sean out to the car for the third and final time, the manager or owner started running after me because he thought that I was doing a “dine and dash.” (Leaving without paying.) This was even funnier considering Andrea was standing in the front of the restaurant with Amy in one arm and her wine and the credit card in the other. WOW!!

I can say the ride home was also “wonderful.” It was filled with tears, crying and shouting… oh my. When we got home, everything seemed to change. Amy went to bed and Sean totally mellowed out. He wanted to go back to the “restaurant upstairs and listen this time.” He went to bed finally, and mom and dad had another adult beverage and were just happy to make it through another day!

I guess we have about 18-20 years to go. Although I couldn’t be happier with my family, it sure tests your limits sometimes. In looking back to the incident, I kinda get a chucke at how such a small little dude can rattle my feathers so much.

I wouldn’t trade it for the world!!

My name is Damian Benko, and I have experienced great success with Passport To Wealth, and internet marketing in general. Many people ask me what the “secret” to success for this, or any program, is.

Well, I can say that there is no real secret or magic bullet for success. Working a home based business, or internet business, is not much different from operating an offline business. Passport To Wealth, or PPTW, is a great software based business that offers the “average joe” an incredible opportunity to build a successful business in the online world.

With all the downsizing and corporate restructuring going on, this is a great time to be in business offering this kind of opportunity. You have to look at the current environment to see if you will be marketing your program during the right time. Fortunes are generally made due to the right timing. Starting an internet business now is perfect.

What I would say is the most critical part of becoming successful in any business, is finding the proper mentor. It is far easier to be successful if you follow those that already are. That is just the smartest course of action when learning a new business.

I formed the Turn-Key Marketing Group, for my members of Passport To Wealth, and we have helped like minded entrepreneurs learn and become profitable in this wonderful business. I wanted to put together a collection of successful internet entrepreneurs to help and mentor those looking to succeed with PPTW.

I am very proud to say that I have done that. The testimonials that we have from our members speak for themselves. The reason why we have such a positive reputation is because of our hands on approach.

Many find that the best way to learn is through personal interaction. I couldn’t agree more. When choosing a mentor you want to ask a few key questions.

First and foremost, did they answer your call or return your call promptly. This will let you know if they are accessible. That is VERY important. If you need to reach them because you have a prospect that has questions, will you be able to get them on the phone when you really need them. Also, when you have vital questions concerning your business, will they be there to continue to help you.

The next thing you want to find out is are they sincere about helping you through the long haul or do you think they are only after the initial profit they will make from you joining their business. I hear nightmare stories daily about people who have joined a program only to NEVER hear from their sponsor again. This is just wrong, but unfortunately it happens everyday.

I also like to be able to “click” with those that I may be mentored from. I want to be on the same page with a person. Do they have a similar background or experience or at least when you talk with them, they seem “down to earth” and genuinely interested in helping me. This is really about feel. How I feel about someone may determine if I join with them or not.

I think, first and foremost, that if you are serious about starting a business, you need to partner or mentor with those you can have access to and can speak with on a one on one basis to get the help and support you need. It is far easier to mimic success from those already achieving it than trying to figure it out on your own.
