When we are motivated by goals that have deep meaning, by dreams that need completion, by pure love that needs expressing, then we truly live life. – Greg Anderson
What is the one dream that is most important to you? Do you feel the need to be of service to people? Design great architecture? Find cures for devastating diseases? Do you absolutely, completely love someone – a child, a spouse, a parent? What is that one most important thing that you always keep in your heart and your mind regardless of what else you might be doing? Let yourself be motivated by that one great dream, that one absolute love. Bring it out into the light and let it be the beacon that guides you every day. Then, and only then, will your life be full.
This also ties in with my definition of success. Many feel that success is a destination. I totally disagree. The truly successful never stop moving forward. If success were a destination, those who reached that success would stop and just enjoy that success. No, I think that success is a journey.
The best definition that I heard regarding success comes from top sales trainer, Tom Hopkins. He defines success as, “the continuous journey towards the achievement of pre-determined, worthwhile goals.”
I think he nailed it right on the head. You need to always be moving forward toward achieving your goals that are important to you. You will ALWAYS be successful if you set goals for yourself that have real meaning and come up with ways to achieve them.
Once a goal is achieved, celebrate in anyway you wish, but then come up with another goal and continue toward the achievement of that one. Don’t ever stop reaching for your goals. That is what makes a truly rewarding life.
