Life is really the sum of your relationships. – Emily Griffin
We often use the analogy of a piece of fabric as an example of how our lives intertwine, intersect and interact with others. Every person who crosses our paths, or our threads, helps to weave the complete fabric of our lives.
What sort of threads are making up the fabric of your life?
In order to ensure that the fabric of your life is without turmoil and adversity, stay away from people who are the equivalent of undesirable threads; people who are inconsiderate, overbearing, people who are liars or cheats, people who will run over anyone in their path in order to get what they want, or who are just plain mean. If the threads of your life are beautiful, your life itself will be beautiful.
To take this a little further, you need to cultivate the GOOD relationships and get the most out of them as you can. True friends are hard to come by. You need to embrace them and always continue to foster more.
If you want to improve your current situation, look around you. If you are not dealing with those people that are where you want to be you need to consider finding new associates to deal with that ARE where you want to be.
Those you hang around will, many times, dictate where you end up. You want to associate with like minded, up beat individuals that can contribute positively to enrich your life.
Now I’m not saying to dump your negative friends, but maybe limit the amount of time that you spend with them. Or at the very least, realize that they ARE having an impact on your life and it may very well be negative!
Always look for the positive and focus on the end result of where you want to be. This is accomplished much easier with strong, positive relationships.
