If you’re looking for healthier, happier or wealthier 2011, please read and follow this proven to work every time formula!

Well, it’s that time of year again when we reflect on the past year and look to the new.  Most people put off looking at the past, especially if it didn’t add up to what we had hoped for a year ago.
If you’re ready to make a commitment to yourself and make 2011 your best year ever, follow this proven formula and game plan and you can’t fail!

The first thing I want to let you know that this is NOT easy as it will take you some time to doIt’s simple but not easy because, following through and thinking are actually the hardest parts of success.  As crazy as it sounds, it’s absolutely true.

So if you’re up to the challenge and are sick and tired of not getting what you want out of life, read on and do this.  You’ll be amazed at the results IF you follow through and actually do it.

****************************************************************************************************

I want to encourage to look at your past year and find all your accomplishments.  Take out a sheet of paper or text document and start analyzing what you did last year.

Just focus on positives you were able to get done.  Did you start a new business?  Maybe you got your first website up or blog.  What ever you felt was an accomplishment, write it down.

Be sure to include all your family moments too.  For example, did you go on any vacations?  Any milestones reached for your kids?  Don’t overlook your life and the great joys that come with everyday life.

All too often we overlook the simple things and don’t appreciate what we really have until it’s gone.  Don’t let that happen to you.  Be grateful you have a life and are still here.  Be grateful you have eyesight to read and your hearing etc.

I know, this may sound all woo-woo feelings and shit, but it’s the freakin truth!

Don’t let your life pass you by without appreciating all that you have.

After you’ve come up with all you accomplished and were able to get done this past year…start another document on what you “wanted to get done but didn’t”.  Remember, to be specific.

If you didn’t make the income you wanted, analyze what income you were expecting or wanting and look at the income you did bring in.  Then think as to why you weren’t able to reach that goal.

In fact, what I’ve seen most is that the majority of people never had an exact figure in mind for the year anyway, thus never truly created a goal for a specific income outcome.
Thus, that may be your main problem.  If you never set a goal in stone, how could you stay focused for it’s attainment?

Simple really when you think about it, right?

If you don’t know EXACTLY where you want to go or what you want…how will you know if or when you achieve it?  Seriously, how can you push yourself or figure out the ways needed to achieve your goal, if you really don’t have a goal?

Sounds too simplistic i know, but it’s true!

Side note:  It’s so important to understand that if you don’t have a clear picture of what you want, your chances for getting it are slim to none…(and slim just went to lunch)

I’m not gonna beat a dead horse here as you should know by now, that if you’re not willing to WRITE this down, that you’re not going to get it.  PERIOD!

So, if that’s you…I wish you well and you can stop reading and go back to drifting aimlessly on the ocean of life. When you’re ready to take control of your life and outcomes, be sure to come back.

For the rest of you still reading and want a clear plan
on how to make 2011 your best year ever, let’s get to it!

Now that you have the groundwork laid by looking at the past year, you’re ready to put a game plan together and are able to create your “Goal Blueprint”.

This blueprint will be your road map to your achieving whatever you want for the new year.  By creating this in advance, you are programming yourself and subconscious for what you expect for 2011 and that will give you the best chance of success possible.

First you want to look at your accomplishments and see the progress you made and be grateful for that.  This understanding gives you the fuel to light your fire to have your best year ever.

Now, on the top of a new document, or sheet of paper if you’re old school, write in caps:

“THIS IS WHAT I WILL GET THIS YEAR, 2011!”

Start with the things you wanted to get last year that you didn’t and be specific.  (Not make more money)

Then add the new things that you want.

Then prioritize them in the order of importance. (it’s easier to do this on a computer as you can move around your goals easier.)

See, when you prioritize it will help you set up your plan for accomplishment instead of just having these goals all scattered.

I would also recommend doing 2 separate “Goal Blueprints”.  One would be for your business and the other would be for your personal life.  This works on all areas of your life.

Don’t forget what’s truly important in your life and work to make it even better…you can get more only if you want more.  You just need to be specific, analyze and organize all this in one location.

Once you have your goals for the new year clearly written out and then prioritized, you must set a precise date for the accomplishment of each.  This time line will insure that you get to work and stay on track.

After you have come up with a time line for the attainment of each of your goals, the next and probably MOST important step to this formula is to figure out WHY you want what you want.

Why do you want goal #1,2,3 etc…

What’s your motivation for it’s attainment?  What will you get out of it when you get it? What is your reason for doing all this work?

This is so important and unfortunately gets missed and forgotten more often than any other step.  However, when you realize how important this is, hopefully, you’ll never forget this point.

If you don’t have a clear and strong enough WHY, then you are much more likely to fold like a cheap suit in the face of adversity.

Napoleon Hill called this “Burning Desire”.

And he pointed out that anyone with a strong enough “Burning Desire” can not and will not be stopped on their journey to success.  This is because if you want something bad enough, you won’t take no for an answer.  You’ll always find the way to get what you want.

That’s why understanding your WHY is so critical to your success.  You have to have “Burning Desire” and if you can get a “White HOT Burning Desire” you’ll be a freight train that can’t be stopped!

After doing this “why” part of the exercise, you may find that you might not want everything you thought you once did.  This may cause you to re-organize your priorities.
That’s cool and that’s why this step is important.

You want to make sure you lay this out as best as you can, so you’ll be happy with following through.  Also, you’ll have passion and WANT to follow through with your plans instead of petering out or giving up before your goal is reached.

Now, the last step to this fact finding or “Goal Finding” mission is to think of the emotion you’ll feel when you reach your goal.  Imagine yourself in possession of the goal “AS IF” you’ve achieved it…

What does that actually FEEL like?  Think about it for a few minutes and bring to the surface the true feeling you’ll have upon accomplishment.

Close your eyes and truly FEEL IT!

Now, write down as best as you can what that feels like.  What can you write down that will trigger that emotional state for you in the future?  Whatever it is, write it down.

Okay, if you really follow this formula and do what I’m suggesting, you’ll spend a few hours doing this.  After this exercise, you should have a “Goal Blueprint” that has the following:

- Most important goals prioritized
- A Clear and precise date for attainment of each goal
A reason WHY you want what you want
The feeling you’ll have when you get it

Now that you have this blueprint, you can now add a “Plan Of Action” for reaching each of your goals.  This will give you a game plan for putting ACTION behind your blueprint.

See, no house gets built without a blueprint.  But, no house gets built with just a blueprint either.  You need workers and ACTION to bring the blueprint to life.

So, you need to do the same.

You now know what you want your “house” to look like, so it’s time to lay out the action plans for “building it” or accomplishing your goals.

These plans are not set in stone as you may not actually know HOW to accomplish what you want, but you need to take the steps to thinking what you can do to move forward towards the accomplishment.

Meaning, that you look at your goals and write down everything you could do to reach your goals.  You don’t need to be as specific here, but it does help.  All you need to do is come up with several things you can actually do to attain your goals.

Do this for all your goals.  By doing this, you’ll discover and get more ideas to put in place to reaching your goals.  It will spark your brain to think outside the box to come up with as many ideas as possible.

Then, just like when you were starting to lay out your goals, prioritize and organize your action thoughts in best to worst idea fashion so you can clearly lay out your game plan with specific actionable steps to implement.

This will allow you to outline precise steps for you to put in place so you can move in the exact direction you’ve laid out for yourself to follow.

Now, that you have all this done, it’s time to put the final piece of this formula together.

YOU NEED TO IMPLEMENT AND TAKE ACTION…

The first action step you need to commit to is reviewing this at least twice everyday! Look at this game plan or “Goal Blueprint” first thing when you wake and right before you go to bed. (This is important as you have the ability to communicate with and program your subconscious best at these times.)

Try to spend at least 5-10 minutes reading your plan and HERE’S THE BIGGY…

Close your eyes and trigger that emotional state you’ll be in “AS IF” you’ve reached your goals.  Embrace and harness that FEELING as best as you can and have it fill your body.

Imagine yourself in possession of your goal and think “as if” for that moment in time. The more you can actually FEEL, the more power you put behind your goals and the faster and easier you’ll experience it’s attainment.

Then either start your day or go to sleep with that intense feeling inside you.

One more thing…

Make time each week to review your action plans and tweak or correct the actions you need to take as needed.  As a torpedo “Zigs and Zags” to it’s target, so do we as goal seekers.  You need to correct your course as you move forward.

You will never take a straight line to your goals.  There will always be changes in plans and direction.  That’s why having a “White Hot Burning Desire” towards the achievement of your goals is so important.  You won’t be tempted to quit or give up when obstacles and challenges present themselves…because they will!  Have no fear of that.

The only thing that you can count on is CHANGE!

Many people won’t move forward because of the “Pain of Change”.  They will be stepping out of their comfort zones and making changes to their lives, which can, and often at times, is painful.

Just remember…

“The pain of change is long forgotten when the benefit of that change is realized!”

Here’s to making 2011 your best year ever.

If this was helpful to you please pass this on and share this with others…  :-)

Here is a true story that just happened in my personal life.  This is kind of a venting video for me and also a very valuable lesson not only in life but also in business.  This is NOT a marketing video, but i think you can get a laugh and learn a good business lesson too.  I hope you enjoy it as much as i did while putting this together. (The best part for me starts around the 6:20 mark.)

TRUE STORY

liza.jpg
Well, yesterday was a very sad day in our household. We had to put down our oldest family pet. We rescued Liza and her daughter Annie, from an abusive home about 12 1/2 years ago.

She has been with Andrea and I since we first started living together, all the way back in 96. She has seen many homes and several states and was always a trooper for her new surroundings.

She even accepted our newest addition to the family with Lexie, our yellow lab.  After a short time she finally gave in even became friends with Lex.  They would roam the yard together as if on a secret mission.  Lex, would always follow her around and even try to get her to play.  Which on a rare occasion Liza would oblige.

I will say that even up until the very end, I would catch her playing with the kid’s toys after they had gone to sleep.  She loved the little people and played with them whenever no one was watching.

Our lives have definitely been better because our her and her love and companionship will be strongly missed. Liza was the kid’s favorite because she was so gentle and caring towards them. (Even when they chased after her and tried to pick her up.)

It’s amazing how such a bond is formed with our pets and how they become an integral part of our families. For all that have pets and understand, this is the toughest part about being blessed with them.

We all know that chances are we are going to have to go through this, but we still go ahead anyway because of the love and affection they bring into our lives.

I am so very grateful that our family had the opportunity to have such a wonderful addition to it, even if it was for only 12 years.

Liza you will be missed.

Veterans Day

This should be the motto of the day:

“If you can read, thank a teacher; If you can read English, thank a Vet!”

I want to express my deepest thanks for all your hard work and sacrifice for our country.  My family and myself thank you from the bottom our our hearts.

It is unfortunate how many don’t fully understand, but what is great is that YOU understand and I thank you for that.

When you are out and about today thank a vet.  And make a commitment to yourself that the next time you are at an airport or train station or just around town, if you see a serviceman in uniform, simply say:

“Thanks for everything! “

I came across this recently from a high schooler, and it gives me hope in our future.

Freedom is not Free

by Ashley Persyn

There is a price we pay for freedom

For it is not truly free

But rather paid for by the contributions of veterans

To buy our liberty

As their blood drains from their body and runs like a river through the grass

Over the years it’s forgotten, war is placed in our past

I don’t think we all realize the importance veterans play

as they voluntarily serve America each and every day

We should honor the veterans for they act like a shield

Protecting us from danger, keeping America healed.

So if you would take a second to commemorate

You will instantly see

We owe veterans our gratitude

For they are the reason we are free
